“Impress the young convert from the very beginning with the conviction that God has called him into His kingdom to struggle with the corruptions of his heart.”
WILLIAM B. SPRAGUE
What has happened to true Christian fellowship? We go to church and when the preaching is done, we are done. We do not spend time getting to know each other. And what has happened to true Christian disicpleship? The new in Christ need our encouragement. Look at what it says in 1 Thess. 5:11, “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” This was a young congregation, and the call was to encourage each other in the Lord! So we need to hold each other accountable! We need to pull the ones that stray away back to the fold! It says this in Jam. 5:19-20, “My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.” So we need to spend time with the young Christian, telling him to watch out for temptation, leading him to the cross, showing him the Scriptures that will help him grow strong in the Lord! So let us hold each other accountable!
